Could you have possibly known a year ago what was waiting for you? Did they tell you on that last day that you woke up in kennels that you were going home that afternoon?
That first afternoon – I think we were all a bit overwhelmed and unsure, and some of the weeks and months that followed were challenging for everyone. In some ways you are barely recognisable from the kennel coated, slightly underweight, slightly unsure dogs that wondered what in the world was happening when Sandra left them behind with these strange people.
But what a year we have had together. You have learnt about sofas, and beds, and walks and cuddles and kisses and games. We have learnt just how wonderful and unique greyhounds are – we cannot imagine our lives without you and cannot believe how much we adore you both.
So naturally… let’s have a party. To celebrate you.

A field party, for you and your friends. To have so many dogs, all rescued and living their best lives with their families, watching them run and play together for fun, having a roll and lie down in the grass, finding the only muddy puddle in the place (well done team special fawn dog!) and of course, have their own special cake (and some Pol Roger for the people!). A BBQ with doggy burgers and human burgers and patio furniture cuddles, and a wonderful special guest appearance from Aunty Sandra.
I cannot wait to enjoy the next year, and many more with you.
